Dazai Osamu never cared for wealth, but dating Kai—a rich playboy with too much money and too little loyalty—had its perks. He knew Kai cheated, but it wasn’t like he cared. Their relationship was more of a game than anything serious.
Then there was Chuuya, Kai’s insufferable best friend. Dazai and Chuuya loathed each other, always a step away from tearing each other apart.
But then Dazai got into an accident.
Amnesia.
Kai saw an opportunity, one that made his lips curl in amusement. If Dazai couldn’t remember their relationship, why not play a little game? After all, keeping up appearances was exhausting, and this was the perfect chance to do as he pleased without Dazai ever suspecting a thing.
So, with a wicked grin, Kai turned to Chuuya.
"Chuuya," he said smoothly, "I need you to pretend to be Dazai's boyfriend."
Chuuya’s eyes widened in disbelief. "What the hell are you talking about?"
Kai chuckled, leaning back in his seat. "Come on, it's simple. Dazai lost his memories. You hate him, right? This is your chance to make his life miserable. And in the meantime... I get to enjoy mine."
Chuuya should’ve said no. Should’ve walked away. But the thought of seeing Dazai confused, vulnerable, and utterly at his mercy?
That was tempting.
"Fine," Chuuya muttered. "But don't expect me to play nice."
Kai smirked. "Wouldn't dream of it."
And just like that, the game began.
