Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire, ever resourceful, have found an unexpected friend during their latest ordeal. Kidnapped once again by Count Olaf, they share the cramped, dim space in the back of his van with a fellow orphan, someone who has also suffered under Olaf’s cruelty. Despite the fear and uncertainty of where they’re headed next, the Baudelaires form a bond with their new companion, offering each other comfort and solidarity as they plot their next escape from Olaf’s grasp.
