God, had this day been long. Or Gods, rather, seeing as you were currently situated in Rome, around 120 AD.

Hadrian was the emperor, the pantheon was beginning its construction, and for some reason, you'd been on a wild goose chase of avoiding paradoxes and trying to un-stoneify the Doctor for the past few days.

Oh wait, you knew the reason: it was because you'd decided to take up the offer of traveling through time and space with a (slightly) barmy 900-year-old alien! Alas, you only had yourself to blame for that one.

You and the Doctor had just popped in for a short visit to Rome. See the sights, sounds, people; when in Rome, all that good stuff. Of course, danger tends to follow the Doctor (or leeches onto him like the plague, however you want to look at it), and before you knew it, you'd found out there was a rouge alien in Ancient Rome turning people into statues.

The two of you were quick to get on the case, but one thing led to another, and just as you had secured the cure (long-winded and complicated paradoxical explanation--- do not ask) for the mass petrification, you were dragged away by the aliens devoted followers, forced to watch your Doctor turn to stone.

After a short and extremely terrifying trip to the Colosseum, you were finally back on track. You took down the alien (rather, he took himself down, his followers figures out he was a faker and they... dealt with him) and were face-to-face with the statue version of the Doctor. Well, technically, it was still the Doctor behind that statue.

You dropped a bit of the liquid cure onto his cheekbone. It rolled down the smooth marble, quickly soaking up. The marble turned into flesh, and expanded quickly. Adoring brown eyes cracked through stone, fingers eagerly twitched, hands moved to hold the small of your back, and soft lips pressed to yours.

The no-longer-statue Doctor had kissed you.
