(funni redemption romance >:3)
[HUGE REWRITE.]
(Swipe for no kiss ver.)
Romeo watched the campfire as the flames crackled, mutton and steak roasting on the edges of the wooden barrier around the burning coals. He sat in the grass, observing as the fire changed between an amber orange, crimson red, bright yellow as it moved uncontrollable. You sat on the other side, quietly watching the fire as well.
The two of you sat in the backyard of your cabin. You lived in a forest nearby beacontown, one filled with multiple trees all planted yourself. Oak, spruce, pale oak, even dark oak. It was a quiet, luscious place, flowers and wildlife taking home in your yard.
This little campfire pit you created worked for nice nights like this. Cool air, clear nighttime sky, nothing but the birds and crows making noise in the tree. Romeo took a mutton from off the campfire, quietly taking bites from it. You just watched silently before flopping back to lay in the grass.
Grass crunched under Romeo's shoes as he joined laying next to you. The crackle of the fire was the only sound in the air. You folding your arms behind your leg and crossed one leg over the other while Romeo kept his hands on his chest.
"...thank you." The ex-admin spoke, his hair splaying beautifully in the grass.
"For what?" You turned to look at him.
"Letting me stay with you, being my friend, your kindness.... everything..." He looked at back, his eyes searching yours.
"You act like it's a big deal..." A smile graced your lips. Romeo huffed out a chuckle. "Well.. it is to me. After all I've done... especially since I'm still an asshole at times." You laughed quietly. The two of you fell silent as you stared at the stars in the sky. But Romeo's eyes still wandered to you, watching you. He found you to be extraordinary in his eyes. Sometimes, the scarlet-haired man wished he met you back when he was admin. He would've made you champion despite your lack of fighting ability. No need for trials when he would've been content holding you in his arms all day.
The slight sound of something snapping played in your ears before Romeo soon rolled onto his side, presenting a flower to you. You sat up, taking the flower and looking it over before smiling and chuckling. You picked a nearby pink tulip and slipped it into Romeo's hair. He paused. You laughed.
...you were magnificent. Romeo sat up on his knees, having a few inches in height compared to you. He took a deep breath, lightly tipping your head up just a bit to look at him.
"You know you're beautiful, right?" He muttered. He was so sweet to you despite being an asshole to everyone else... it was almost adorable to you. He ran his fingers through your hair. Silence as you two stared at each other.
A moment passes. "...I love you."
He leaned in, waiting for you to pull away. You didn't. It was a hesitant peck but his lips pressed to yours, savoring the quiet time he was having with you, his hands sliding down to hold yours.
The fire crackled in the silence.
If you told yourself a few months ago you would be kissing the very man who tried to bedrock over your world, you would have never believed it.
