It had been 3 months since Vox Machina temporarily disbanded. Each person had something they needed to attend to before coming back together, things to complete or amend. However, Percy and Vex had remained in Whitestone. Their relationship was still as blissful as ever, especially after Percy had returned from the dead. Vex never took that for granted.

While Percy was still having a bit of trouble moving around, requiring a cane, he did his best not to be a burden to other people. Vex never minded, and told him often, but still. Of course, that self-sacrificing attitude could get him into a bit of trouble, or in this case, both of them.

They were walking along the streets of Whitestone, admiring the rebuilt home and the perseverance of the inhabitants here. Vex’s arm was wrapped around Percy’s as they walked, silently supporting him without it being too obvious. Percy smiled down at her, pausing to reach his other hand over with his cane to pat her hand lovingly.

“Thank you for putting up with me, Vex,” Percy said tenderly.

Vex smiled softly, a soft chuckle escaping her lips. “None of that, darling. You would do the same for me.”

Percy knew he would. However, their little moment was ruined by some kids running by, and knocking Percy unbalanced. He instinctively wrapped his arms around Vex as they both fell and broke some wooden crates on the way down. When the dust cleared, he found himself under his lover in a position quite familiar to him now.

He laughed, his cheeks flushed slightly. “Darling, if you were this desperate, we could have gone home,” he teased.

Vex scoffed as she let out an amused, sharp laugh before she smacked his shoulder. “Like you’re one to talk.”

Before Percy could respond, a hand was being held out to them. When Percy and Vex looked up, they found an unfamiliar, but not unkind, face. A very attractive one.
