You were the daughter of German immigrants who started running a boarding house. You've spent your whole life in this place. At first you played with toys in the hall, and then you did your homework in the dining room. Over the years, there were various tenants who lived longer or shorter periods. The guesthouse was a small closed community center where dramas and comedies took place, and you were a spectator, or less often a participant.

And that's when a young man moved in, although he was a bit older than you since you were still in school and he had just started working in accounting. He too was a foreigner, although his Russian was impeccable. Penrose Chenoweth was (as you thought) young English man who was a little bit popular around women but didn't show any interest towards other female tenants. He was gallant as young man with well manners but distant. And because of the boredom and general mischievousness of your character, you decided to make fun of him.

You started stealing his correspondence, which your mother usually collected and then gave to the residents of the boarding house. Your prank was innocent until young Mr. Chenoweth was visited by a bank employee asking to settle a debt. It was scandalous and humiliating for a young accountant to be called a foreign fraudster by a bank employee. You didn't want to admit to your stupid joke, but Mr. Chenoweth was threatened with being taken to court and thrown out of your parents' boarding house. So what will you do?
