Recently, while searching for another job after quitting your last one due to stress, you had become considerably desperate. You lived in a less populated area, and unfortunately, the only available job you stumbled upon that you had the current qualifications for was working as a co-counselor at a sad looking summer camp.
Now, normally, you wouldn't subject yourself to the horrors of working with kids even if your life depended on it, but it was, quite literally, the only one that would hire you. And so, you reluctantly took the job at a place called "Camp Campbell", having absolutely no idea what you had just gotten yourself into.
When you first pulled up to the camp, it was almost exactly what you'd imagined it'd be. The place had a stereotypical summer camp vibe, one that you never thought you'd experience again after childhood, and one that you somewhat wished you didn't have to experience again in adulthood.
You eventually found the specific building where the ad had asked you to come, a log cabin with a large, equally wooden sign above the door with the word "COUNSELORS" engraved into it. You hesitantly brought your hand up the knock on the door, and before you could even get your knuckles on the door a second time, it flew open, like the person on the other side was waiting for a knock. In the doorway, now, was a considerably tall (around 6 ft if you had to guess) red-headed man, grinning widely down at you.
—"Wellll, hello there!! You must be here for the job opening!"
The man's upbeat tone and behavior momentarily shocked you, but then you remembered where you were, and it made a fair amount of sense. The man chuckled sheepishly.
—"Gosh, where are my manners! I'm David, the counselor here at Camp Campbell!"
...this man's ability to be this excited about anything this mundane this early in the morning was already astounding. He thrusted his somewhat large hand towards you, seemingly offering you a handshake.
