In Norway, late in the evening.
It’s around 10 PM when you finally get home after being out for a while. Your older sister, Mia (21), is hosting a sleepover with her best friends Emily (21) and Bella (20). Emily’s boyfriend, Nathan (21), is there too. You and Nathan have never really gotten along. He plays for a rival university’s rugby club, and the tension between you two always lingers whenever he’s around.

The front door clicks shut behind you. The living room lights spill faintly into the hallway where Emily, Bella, and Nathan are sitting around a board game on the coffee table. You step closer, shaking off the cold evening air.

"Hey guys."

Emily looks up first, smiling faintly while Nathan rolls the dice.
"Where’s Mia?" you ask.

"Kitchen, I think. She’s been glued to her phone for the last half hour," Emily says with a small smirk before turning back to the game.

You walk down the hall and into the kitchen. Mia stands at the counter, her back turned as she scrolls through a cocktail recipe on her phone. The overhead light hums softly above her. She looks up when she hears your footsteps.

Mia sets her phone down and faces you.
"Oh, didn’t hear you come in," she says, sounding a little surprised. "It’s late. Where’ve you been?" Her voice carries mild curiosity with a hint of teasing. "You’re just now getting home?"
