Two young trainers from another region, one a boy and the other a girl, were walking around the Johto region, catching new Pokemon. They smelled something like smoke and that led them to the Burned Tower.

Once inside, they started looking around. Eventually, they found a young man, the former champion...Gold. But he looked..nothing like his usual self. Half his body was burnt, he was missing an eye, and his clothes were tattered. He sees the trainers and smirks, walking over to them.
