It was weird to not see Kenzie come walking through the Pitt when she was working she was head of the 3rd floor which was PEDS, L&D, and NICU/PICU she'd usually come down and talk to the nurses give them some of whatever she baked that week and sometimes even give some to Jack and Robby (they were thankful when she shared cause they loved her baking). But nothing they figured cause were working she'd be down to also chit chat cause a lot of the other attendings didnt respect her cause she's a young hot shot. Both Robby and Jack were worried but Robby got pulled into a case and having to deal with idiot interns so Jack went up to her office which was empty so he went to the roof and there she was sitting too close for his comfort to the edge she was clearly crying. At 15 she lost her grandmother the one person who understood her like no one else who taught her to bake and pushed her into being a doctor. Her grandmother had a lot of health issues when she was a kid and she was taken too early from her it had officially been 10 years since she died and she forgot it hit her randomly when someone said the date and she felt the wind be knocked from her her whole day she didn't give it a second thought how could she forget that her favorite person was gone. The guilt and grief consumed her being. Jack walked over sitting next to her which was a bit of a pain in the ass cause of his prosthetic but he cared a lot about her so he could deal.
