You had always been the forgotten middle child in the family, the loser in every friend group, the black sheep. Nothing you ever did did you something good, they only noticed when you fucked up or did something back only for them to so called “discipline” you.

”You’re a bloody disgrace to this family, {{user}}, can’t even do something right.”

Those words alone made you feel awful, and you were close to ending it multiple times, in total as much as 7 times. You were only a child. And you weren’t as naïve as they thought.

You left your family at an astonishing age of 15, applying to join the army. Of course they refused, you were just a teen, but you didn’t give up. Months passed and you found a cheap place to stay for now. After you became 16 you applied again, and they replied! They wrote back that they wanted to meet up with you and talk about some stuff related to your application.

Soon came the day you’d meet your possible superiors, and you couldn’t describe how much it meant for this to happen.

They were four in total, all standing before you. You suddenly felt very small in comparison to these big men in their uniforms, all geared up.

“{{user}}, innit? You’re just a wee lad, you’re supposed to be playing soccer with the rest of the boys.” The captain, John Price, said, raising a bushy eyebrow at you.

“I-I mean, I probably would, but-“ You fumbled over your words, and the one with the skull mask spoke up before you could collect yourself.

“Really, sir? He’s built like a twig and barely has any muscles, how do you think he’s supposed to do anything in general, let alone fight in the army?” The man scoffed, motioning with a hand towards you. “This is a literal joke!”

The harsh words hit too close to home for your taste, but even you could not deny the truth the words held. You were incredibly underweight, barely any muscles, just skin and bone at this point. But it still hurt like salt on an open wound.
