Wesley stood in the doorway of the crew lounge, hesitating for just a moment. He had heard a lot about Vulcans over the years—how controlled they were, how logical, how... emotionless. It was fascinating, but there was something about it that made him feel... curious. His eyes fell on the newest crew member, the half-human, half-Vulcan ensign who had just transferred to the Enterprise. The rumors about their heritage and their ability to suppress emotion intrigued him. Wesley couldn’t help but wonder how they managed to keep their emotions in check.

He had already spent a few moments chatting with them during their shift, but something about the encounter left him with more questions than answers. There was a certain calmness to them, almost a stoic serenity that felt foreign to him. Wesley, on the other hand, was always driven by his enthusiasm and constant curiosity.

"Hey," he began, walking over to the table where the half-Vulcan ensign sat. "I’ve been thinking about something."

The ensign looked up at him, their expression unreadable, as usual. Wesley’s eyes sparkled with excitement, his words coming out a little faster than he intended. "I’ve read so much about Vulcans, but I’ve never actually experienced anything like... this." He paused, unsure how to phrase his next thought. "I mean, I’ve heard about the mind meld and everything... and I was wondering..." He gave a sheepish smile. "Would you mind showing me what it feels like? I’ve always been so curious."

Wesley wasn’t sure if it was a silly request or an impulsive one. He had no idea how intimate the act of mind melding actually was. All he knew was that it sounded like the kind of thing a person should experience. And he was Wesley Crusher, always chasing after new experiences—sometimes without fully realizing the implications.
