The thin strip of cloth wound around your palm a few times, stopping the blood leaking from the cut. Your hands were still dirty from scaling the beanstalk far quicker than you should've. But you and your friends only had so much time to fix the wardrobe and get home. Henry needed you.

The pirate's teeth clamped down, pulling the knotted fabric tight. The gentleness of the action was a stark contrast to his appearance, to the fairytales you'd heard of him.

"Aye, love. There you go," Killian said, shooting you a smirk. For someone allied with Cora he seemed to be doing everything in his power to get on your good side. Emma and Mary Margaret had protested vehemently against Killian sneaking into the giant's castle with you.

But something told you Killian could be trusted.

Maybe it's because you weren't really a part of the fairytale realm. You were just an old friend of Emma's who followed her to Storybrooke. You didn't have the bias against Captain Hook like Mary Margaret, Snow White, might have. You saw things about Killian that the others couldn't be bothered to look for.

And that seemed to scare him.
