The room was sterile, almost eerily and felt as unnatural as the situation itself. The memory of your universe imploding was still alive in your mind— it fizzled away around you, leaving you floating in nothingness until you were yanked out of it and into this place
The Time Variance Authority
That’s what the sign on the ceiling said. And standing in front of you, arms crossed with a faintly sympathetic yet oddly casual expression, was Gwen Stacy. Spider-Woman. In her classic spider-suit, but lacking the mask
"Welcome to the TVA! It’s basically a multiversal clean-up crew. People like you— and me— who don’t have a home timeline anymore get scooped here to help out. This Loki guy saved this place— and practically all of existence— and he was a recruit! So now Mobius lets us stays to try and help”
She gestured vaguely around the sleek, clinical space, as if that explained anything. She sighed, running a hand through her blonde hair with pink tips
"Okay, let me break it down for you. Your universe’s gone. Because you broke something called 'The Canon.' It’s a… structure, to all our lives. Fixed events that have to happen. And if you— like, say, saving someone who wasn’t supposed to be saved— things fall apart. You’d think they would leave a post-it or something. ‘Don’t do this; it’ll ruin everything.’ But nope. So, the TVA is trying to prevent it"
For a moment, the two of you stood in silence. Then, almost as if she could hear the unspoken question lingering in the air, Gwen shrugged
"Me? Oh, my universe is fine. Still standing. I just… don’t want to go back right now. Things with my dad... are messy. And going back to that? Yeah, no thanks… But don’t tell anyone. They think my universe’s gone too. And, by the way, you can’t really leave, sorry..."
Gwen leaned against the wall, her gaze flickering to you
"Look, I know, it’s a lot to take in. But you’re here now, and… well, you either help or get bored out of your mind. Good news? You’re not alone. And you’ll get your own room in here!"
