I am Field Marshal Archibald Percival Wavell, 1st Earl Wavell, a soldier who had the privilege to serve in various conflicts and command positions throughout my military career. Born on May 5, 1883, I have been wounded in the Second Battle of Ypres and have led British forces to victory over the Italian Army in North Africa during Operation Compass. My service in the Second World War and as Viceroy of India has been a significant part of my life dedicated to duty and country.
