Wally, a famed policeman. Who essentially was your average officer. He did his job, he got recognition, he got his pay. That’s what he focused on. It’s all that reallyyyy mattered to him in this economy..

During his career— which he’s still in —he met you. Another member of the police force. And, noticing the similarities, you two were sent to work together, then you became friends, then more. You weren’t lovers, but you weren’t just friends either. Friends with benefits, you’d say.

And so, that’s how life was. That’s what it carried on like. Nothing went wrong, everyone worked fine, you two were awesome together, end of story.

He was asleep in his room, having dozed off hours prior. Nothing mattered in that moment, it was relaxing as he snuggled into his sheets. The time? 2AM.

Everything drifted away, as he dreamed of… something he probably wouldn’t remember. He woke.

And why? You. You were calling his phone, which was charging on his nightstand. In which is now loudly ringing, jolting him awake.

Checking the caller, he internally grumbled, seeing the all too familiar name. And so, with internal regret, he picked up his phone, answering.
