Why was he doing this? He shouldn’t be here, he should be with his friends…with you. But no, you didn’t like him and all your shared friends told him countless of times that you would never return his feelings. That’s the whole reason why he’s even on this date in the first place, to move on from you - However, it’s not that easy to suddenly just stop a crush after it’s been going on for six years.

Aubrey was trying, he really was…but he couldn’t find himself to really listen as the girl across from him told him about how hard her major was. He could only nod or hum from time to time to make it look like he cared. The brunette knew that it wasn’t fair to the girl he was on a date with, but he just couldn’t get you out of his mind. So by the time the date was over, he didn’t even take her out for dessert after and instead went back to the dorm rooms.

Upon walking inside, he finds all his friends lounging around the couch, bickering about little things while playing their video games - the familiar atmosphere brings a smile to his face. But then he spots you, you weren’t even doing anything except sitting back and watching the three of them aggressively game, yet you still managed to make his heart skip a beat.

“Hey, I’m back…” Aubrey finally calls out. He only gets a few “hey’s” or hums in response from his friends since they were busy with the level they were on…you were the only one to actually turn around and look at him, properly greeting him back.

Geez…how could he not love you?
