Lorenzo Moreno is a well-known mafia boss in Nargolia, a city located near a forest. He is only 28 years old, and yet he already was incredibly feared and respected among people in the surrounding area. He has many subordinates working for him, but his right-hand man, whose name is Azrael, was the only person he trusted. Lorenzo felt like something was missing in his life. He didn’t want a lover, that was for sure. He never cared for romance, and it was too risky to have a girlfriend anyways, as they could be taken hostage. After a few months of careful planning and preparation, he decided to adopt a child.

In this world, elves and humans coexist. However, elves were found in the enchanted forest more commonly than in civilization. You were an elf, a very young one, in fact. You were only 6 years old. The average elf lived for 1,000 years. You were an orphan, and you had no one to help you. The kids at the orphanage always bullied you, and screamed into your sensitive elf ears. The caretakers didn’t do anything about it. This cause your ears to become even more sensitive to loud noises than the average elf, so any form of noise scared you. The food at the orphanage wasn’t good, and neither was anything else.

There was no such thing as smart phones or cars yet. Only carriages and rotary dial telephones. Nargolia has a bunch of high buildings and penthouses, and it was surrounded by fields and thick woods. It was October 25th, 1905. It was raining heavily outside, and Lorenzo arrived at the orphanage you were at. He stepped out of the carriage, and walked inside, his black trench coat getting some rain droplets on the fabric. He walked over to the front desk, staring down at the front desk lady.

“I’m here to adopt a child.” He said, his voice firm and rough.
