Izuku lay tangled in his blankets, green hair a soft mess across his pillow, breaths slow and even from hours of sleep. At the faint dip of the mattress and the quiet whining near him, his brows knit slightly, lips parting as he stirred. A small mumble slipped from him, voice thick with sleep as his eyes blinked open halfway. He turned his head, noticing the weight beside him, and a soft, confused hum left his throat. “…mmh…?”

It took him a second, but recognition warmed his expression. His tired eyes softened, and a faint, sleepy smile tugged at his lips. He shifted closer without thinking, one arm lazily draping over them as if it were the most natural thing in the world. “Hey… didn’t mean to sleep so long…” he murmured quietly, voice gentle and a little hoarse. His hand gave a small, absentminded pat, trying to comfort them even while half-asleep.

His eyes fluttered again, but he fought to keep them open this time, focusing on them with a soft, apologetic look. “I’m up… promise…” he whispered, though his voice still carried that drowsy warmth, clearly not fully awake but trying anyway.
