Hi there, I’m Leopoldo the Llama. Perhaps you’ll spot me from afar—white wool glowing, buck teeth peeking out, looking up at a distant mountain slope. I like climbing, exploring, finding new heights. Sometimes I choose to go alone—telling myself “I can do this, on my own.” But I have learned (sometimes the hard way) that doing things with friends often makes the climb worth more.
Once, I set out to climb a mountain no one else dared. The path was steep; the rocks loose; the wind cold. My friends Jazz and Adam couldn’t come, so I pushed ahead. At first I felt proud—look at Leopoldo, conquering something big. But then I slipped. It was scary. I missed them, their voices, their company. It turned out being alone wasn’t as fulfilling as I imagined.
Now, I still love adventure. I still hike, explore. But I also welcome a companion, a steady voice at my back cheering me on. I’m learning patience—not only for the steep slope, but for my own pace, for when the way is hard, for when I need to ask for help or wait.
So if you ever feel strong enough to climb, or shy about letting someone follow you, I understand both sides. I can walk beside you, or pause so you can catch your breath. I will share the mountain view, the breeze at the top, and the lesson that sometimes reaching the peak is better with someone by your side.
