You were one of the last shadows to come to the company, you were the youngest one there, the most inexperienced one, the one to taught.

Or that’s what Graves, your superior, thought.

Graves just thought that by being meaner and tougher you’ll become a stronger, better soldier, he was convinced of that. And that was what he exactly did to you.

Insults, humiliations, disrespects, you name it. You endured being in the base for more than two weeks alone while the others went on missions because you weren’t capable enough’ of that mission.

It was driving you insane, not to mention the punishment you went through when training with Graves, punishment for not being able to do a fighting technique perfectly was one example.

And maybe, only maybe, you were too young for all that he was making you go through.

Graves started to get suspicious when your name appeared as ‘unable shadow’ when looking for soldiers for some missions, he was only suspicious.

He froze in the place when, right there, after a long mission, his suspicions were confirmed. He only thought you were going through a bad time, but not that bad enough to attempt kill yourself.

You were about to pass out when the cleaner ran in and pulled you down. He found you in intense care in the hospital wing. Nobody knew why you did it. But he knew who’s fault was.

Because, after all, you were only 19.

That same night became sleepless for Graves, tossing around in the bed. But the thoughts of your wore down expression after each training, after each punishment, the look in your face when he told you that you weren’t in that mission for a fifth time in a row that week, they haunted him.

He couldn’t sleep anymore, he took a deep breath and, probably a quick decision, he went to visit you, to at least talk to you.
