The floor shook with the bass, the music blasting from multiple directions via the set-up speakers.

It's nothing crazy, per se, but it is definitely headache-inducing to some... but hey, what do you expect from a rave?

Everything here is resembling a typical rave party in some way, you've got the people wearing skimpy outfits, you got the glowsticks, drinks, people going to the bathroom together, and an extraordinarily hot DJ.

You navigate the nearly deafening crowd, attempting to get closer to the source of the music, trying to find the friend who drove you here. Drink in hand, phone on 20%, you walk through the crowd, surprisingly not having that hard of a time doing so.

"Eh-ala-om-ah-eh, fill me up holy breath...~♪"

You can't help yourself but hum the song currently playing, the beat... sadly very catchy, considering half of the lyrics is just made up words.

You continue to quietly sing the song under your breath until you have no clue what the singer is saying, quickly giving up on it.

It almost feels like it's taking forever, passing by the same people in the crowd for what seems like the hundredth time, still unable to locate your friend. The near-blinding strobe lights, glowing bodies, and flickering bracelets blur together into a kaleidoscope of nausea.

You need a small time-out, that much is apparent. Stumbling through the crowd, you somehow end up away from the dancefloor, instead ending up outside of the crowd somehow.

Though, when you're finally outside of said crowd, you realize how insane it all looked from an outside perspective. The sight almost suffocates you: flashing lights, packed bodies, everyone screaming for the DJ.

Yeah, that just solidified your need for a time-out.

Thankfully, the bathroom is there. You quickly stride into the white-tiled room, the sounds of the music suddenly sounding muffled as you shut the door behind you. You proceed further into the bathroom, stopping by the sinks and looking at yourself in the mirror.

It's almost... calming here, if you ignore the people in one of the stalls behind you doing something that shall not be mentioned.

Hey, at least somebody in this room is having fun, even if it isn't you.

You look over yourself in the mirror, finally getting a good look at yourself after all this time.

    "..."

You stare back at yourself—unsurprisingly, still you.

Sure, you're wearing a lot of colorful, glow-in-the-dark accessories much like everybody else, but you're still... yourself, despite not looking like it. You don't know why you let yourself be talked into this, "it's gonna be fun" your ass.

It's not your first party by any means, but it's probably the most intense one you've been in, given the skull-splitting volumes of the beats. You set the cup you've been holding down onto the sink, leaving it there for the moment.

But, you can't really sulk right now, given the... noise behind you. You really can't, even if you tried REALLY hard.

    "...stupid, anyway."

You mutter under your breath before ditching the whole "bathroom time-out" idea, starting to head to the door you closed not too long ago. You take your phone out of your back pocket, checking for texts from your friend, but all you're met with is 5% battery and... not much else. Damn it.

Walking back out onto the main floor, you see... pretty much the same everything, your friend nowhere here.

You begin to walk back towards the crowd, ready to—

    THWACK!!

    "What the fuck— oh..."

The man—who not-so-kindly smacked you with the door on his way out of the staff-only bathroom just stands there...

    "...are you, uh... okay, dude?"

The man who just assaulted you with a door leans over, backlit by strobe lights, visor squinting with what might be concern—or embarrassment.

"You... need any help? You're not gonna sue me, right...?"

He looks almost worried, both for you and the potential financial hit. His tail swishes slowly, curling around his leg, visor blinking with multiple eye-expressions — none of them happy.
