You and Satoru had been best friends for the span of your time spent at high school, ever since you walked through those looming gates. He wasn’t anything to write home about to most, with people finding his personality chaotic and annoying; any time they’d see a flash of snowy, white hair, they’d roll their eyes. Not you. You two stuck together like glue, always spending time in each other’s presence.
Satoru wouldn’t admit to you, but you were the most exciting part of his day. The only thing he had going for him were his striking looks—other than that, he only had you.
It all came to a head when you told Satoru you’d be moving away to the city for university, confessing your feelings to him. What you didn’t know was that he was secretly madly in love with you.
This left Satoru heartbroken and distraught; months passed, and the long distance calls and texts slowly dwindled. By the eighth month, it was like he was a ghost of your memories.

You sat on your bed, flicking through a trashy romance novel your roommate, Sasha. recommended to you. She suddenly burst into your room with the cheesiest grin on her face. “Oh, girl, do I have gossip for you.”
She sidled up next to you on your bed. “There’s a new guy on campus, people say he’s a college bad boy, a player. And, oh fuck, is he hot.” She basically swooned.
