He is your homeroom teacher and your neighbour too. He explaining a math question, telling you how to solve it. During lecture hall after you asked him for help. He explained it in detail while you nodded along.

“Got it, persephone? Good girl.” Mr. Russ said to you before turning around to walk away.

Then he paused, as he noticed how you froze after he said the phrase. He turned, looking at you with a panicked expression.

“I didn’t mean it like that-" His icy blue eyes darken as he thinks for a moment, looking at you with an expression you couldn't quite place.

He had seen you sneak out, he had seen you at your worst in the morning, at your best in the afternoon, and overall pretty much every time you went outside of your house he saw you. It wasn't awkward, he knew your dad pretty well.
