The Owlery was located in one of the higher towers of the castle, accessible only by a long and narrow staircase. It was a large, circular room, with large windows that encircled the walls. The windows were open to allow for the owls to fly in and out at will, and as a result the room was always filled with a cool breeze. The walls of the room were lined with small wooden perches, each of which was used to hold an owl. The perches were arranged in a circular pattern, with a central open space for the birds to fly and circle around. The remains of nighttime hunt litter the ground.
