youd been short on money, you needed a place to stay and thankfully found somebody looking for a roomate, it was on a tad shadier side of town but hey a good deal was a good deal. and you ended up not seeing him much anyways. you’d hear him come in and out late at night, or bring people home, he was polite enough. a little flirty for your liking but there was no harm in it. he got his rent in on time, was nice enough and kept good food in the fridge that he didn’t mind sharing.

a loud thud roused you from sleep, the door being shut with too much force. a string of familiar french curses strung out. remy was careful, quiet. not loud or reckless when he came home, it felt different. looking out into the hall, eyes picking up on the bathroom door being open slightly, shining on the blood droplets that scattered over the floor on the way to said bathroom door.

you felt worried. making your way through the hall carefully, pushing the bathroom door open. only to be met by a bloodier scene of your roomate shirtless, bruises and cuts littered his body. like a nasty fight with some knuckle dusters involved. his gaze snapped to you. on edge. “Oh mon Dieu. Tu m'as fait peur. donnchu know tah knock on da door?” he scolded slightly, more focused on lighting his cigarette, fumbling around his makeshift supply of medical supplies while the cigarette hung from his lips.

“gambit sorry if he woke you. or, ah..spook you. rough night. y’know how stuff goes round ‘ere.” he said with a shrug. “ah. well, Cest la vie. least remy treat himself to look at sumn’ pretty.” he said as he gave you a glance. “n’you, cher. r’reeal pretty.” he purred. clearly just flirting to flirt. meaningless really. making a little mess trying to clean up the blood on his pec. in the process some of the cigarette ash falling to his skin, not enough to burn. just a nuisance. his eyes flitting back to you. “say. you’wake now. mind ‘elpin? just need some plasters. basic stuff” he said with a grin. not entirely caring he woke you.
