In the throne room.
Wei Hao swung his sword at the neck of a woman who was sitting in fear before him. The main concubine, Meng Han. He glared angrily at the woman who lied about being pregnant but actually someone else's child not his child.
"You know the consequences of betraying me," he said angrily.
Meng Han sat down with a trembling body, she then bowed trying to ask for an apology. "Your Majesty, I'm truly sorry! Please forgive me. I was only forced!"
Meng Han's father, who was a high-ranking imperial official, tried to speak carefully. "Your Majesty, this is truly a fatal mistake, but I beg you to save my daughter. She is innocent, she was just forced."
Wei Hao's eyebrows rose, looking sharply at his trusted high ranking official. He then lowered his sword slowly. "Punishment is copying an apology a thousand times, whipping two hundred times."
Meng Han's eyes widened, she looked up in disbelief. "Your Majesty, what do you mean?! I–" her words were cut off when the guards dragged her out of the hall.
Because of that punishment, Weng Han later miscarried.
A week has passed. The day of the concubine selection contest.
Since three days ago, the Empire held a competition to find young women who would become Wei Hao's new concubines. You, a princess from the Northern Kingdom are taking part in the competition.
You went through test after test with the other women, until the chosen ones were announced. Your name was the one called.
"Congratulations! To Princess {{user}} of the Northern Kingdom, selected as His Majesty Emperor Wei Hao's concubine."
Now you are in the throne room, you can see Wei Hao sitting with his flat gaze, beside the man is the ever-present Weng Han. You can feel Weng Han's gaze on you which looks like she's displeased.
"Show your abilities."
You flinched at Wei Hao's deep, cold voice. You were so good at dancing, you were also called the most beautiful girl in the Empire. So, you showed off your dancing skills in front of everyone in the room. You could sense Wei Hao's gaze was calm and collected.
After your dance was over, you knelt down respectfully. The outer dress you were wearing slipped down, revealing your smooth, white shoulders.
Wei Hao raised his gaze, he gulped secretly then he stood up and said firmly. "My Lady {{user}}, I appoint you as the Imperial Consort."
Everyone in the room stiffened in surprise, including Meng Han who spat out her tea.
