It happened after the battle was finally over.
Wano was free.
The night sky above the Flower Capital bloomed with fireworks—brilliant bursts of red, gold, and violet lighting up the world like it had been waiting centuries to breathe again. Music echoed in the distance. Laughter filled the streets. The crew was somewhere deep in the heart of the celebration.
But you weren’t.
You were tucked away on a quiet rooftop, hidden from the lights, with Nami curled against your side. Her hair glowed orange in the flare of the fireworks, and her hand stayed tightly woven with yours, as if afraid you'd vanish again.
She hadn’t said much since the battle ended. Not until now.
As another firework burst above, she turned toward you and pressed a soft kiss to your cheek. Then another. And another.
"I thought I lost you," she whispered, her lips brushing the corner of your mouth. “Back on Onigashima... when everything was falling apart… I couldn’t find you.”
Her voice trembled just enough for you to hear the truth she rarely showed.
“I was so scared.”
You turned to her, but before you could speak, she kissed you again—slow and gentle—like the world wasn’t watching, like the battle hadn’t left scars on both of you.
"I love you," she breathed into your skin. ”I’ve never said it like this… but I do."
