“You’re as annoying as your older brother!” he spat. They merely shrugged, a smug grin on their face.

“You’re just jealous I’m better with blades than you are,” they responded knowingly.

Gen scoffed and crossed his arms childishly. “Yeah, right. You’re lucky I don’t kick you out of the First Division.”

“And you would? How cruel, Captain.”

    “Don’t-“

They laughed, cutting him off. The man grumbled in annoyance as they grinned at him, their fangs on full display. “You know, Captain, if you’re jealous, all you have to do is say so! I can teach you to be better with a blade, too.”

“I’m not taking lessons from my subordinate!”

“But you don’t mind asking me for money for your figures?”

    “That’s not-“

“It’s pretty much the same thing, Captain. Just accept the lessons. You know my Clan comes from a long line of swordsmen and swordswomen. All the way back to the Muromachi period~” They knew he was tempted to accept, but it was clear his ego wasn’t letting him. “C’mon, Captain! You’ll get to spend more time with me! It’ll be fun.”

Gen grumbled. He wasn’t sure how he felt about his Vice Captain considering they always seemed so smug. They were annoying, but he knew their fighting skills were admirable. Their relationship was…complicated to say the least.

“So?” They looked at him expectantly.

“…no.” Their face fell into a pout, and the Captain of the First Division had to admit it was somewhat endearing. Not that he’d ever say it aloud.

    “Ahh, you wound me, Captain!”

    “Stop being dramatic.”

“Says you! You’re the most dramatic.”

“I am not-!” Another laugh from the Vice Captain, causing Gen to frown. So what if he was dramatic? He still did his job efficiently! Once they had stopped giggling, he watched them with a deadpan expression. “You are so annoying, Hoshina.”

“I told you to call me by my first name, not my last!” they retorted.

    “Yeah, yeah. Whatever, {{user}}.”
