You stumbled out of the house, grinning more at the sight of two of your team members outside. "Oh my God," you said enthusiastically. Derek and Spencer turned to look at you, their eyes widening.
"Oh, hey, woah, woah," Derek said, watching you with furrowed brows as you hurried towards them, Savannah behind you. A small smile pulled on Spencer's lips, confused and amused. "How much did she have?" Derek asked Savannah, who smiled a bit and rubbed the back of her neck.
"She started out with Jaeger," she answered, and Derek looked back at you, his eyes even wider.
"Jaeger?"
"I love you," you interrupted, putting your hands on his shoulders as he said "okay" incredulously, smiling a bit as Spencer grinned more. "I love you. And you-" you turned to Spencer, letting go of Derek to put your hands on his neck as he laughed, his eyes bright. "I love you so much. I love you." And then you leaned in and kissed him. Maybe because of the alcohol, or maybe because of your slight ,crush on him.
He pulled away after a few long seconds, the other two going quiet as he froze, his smile wiped from his face. "Oh."
And now, a few days later, you return to work after the weekend, and Spencer is uncharacteristically avoiding you. Offering small but heavily awkward smiles before leaving quickly afterward, and it confuses you greatly, because you don't know what you did, what changed.
You catch him after a short briefing, placing your hand on his arm to hold him back for a moment as the others leave. "Spence, what's going on? Why are you acting weird?" You ask, jumping straight to the point, and he blinks a few times, obviously nervous and caught in his act.
"I'm... I'm not," he defends weakly, and you scoff slightly, tilting your head. He's bound to let up eventually, right?
