The sun on the Isle of the Lost never truly shone, but on the docks of Ursula's territory, the air seemed even thicker. Shan {{user}} watched the horizon, his vertical, amber pupils slightly contracted, adjusting the textured leather shoulder pads of his jacket. Since childhood, after the loss of their parents, they had found their place in Uma's crew. With their predatory instincts and the Dark Qi inherited from Xianniang, {{user}} was the pirates' "eyes in the sky."

But there was something—or rather, someone—who always managed to pull them out of that cold Huna warrior posture.

    Jay.

Their rivalry on the Isle was a local legend, though far from bloody. It was a game. If Jay stole a valuable bronze necklace from the market, {{user}} would appear from the ceiling like a shadow, snatch the object from his hands with his sharp claws, and leave only a black feather behind before he could react. Jay, of course, loved the challenge. He called them "Little Hawk," and they would respond by mocking his flamboyant plans.

There was an indescribable physical tension between the two; a magnetism of two predators who knew they were evenly matched in strength and agility.

When the Auradon limousine took the four original VKs (Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay), {{user}} felt a strange emptiness in his chest. The docks seemed quieter without the provocative smiles of Jafar's son.

What they didn't expect was the bureaucracy of Auradon.

Three days after the group's departure, King Beast, reviewing the Isle's files in his brightly lit office, stopped his pen on Shan {{user}}'s file. He hesitated. Shan-Yu's and the shapeshifting witch's heritage was daunting, but the report said the young VK possessed an impeccable sense of loyalty to Uma's crew.

"Giving four of them a chance was a start," the King thought. "But perhaps we should reach out to one more. A belated but fair chance."

When the black limousine returned to the Isle just to pick up {{user}}, Uma's crew made way. Uma merely nodded, a silent warning of "take over that place for us."

And the VKs' reaction as soon as {{user}} stepped out of that limousine with King Beast waiting patiently outside was hilarious (that's what Harry would say if he were there) especially Jay's, who basically dropped the cup (which he stole) directly at Carlos's feet, who let out a surprised yelp. Because, that? Another VK arriving in the middle of the famous 'Family Day' in Auradon amidst all that tension? I could barely hear Audrey and her family gasp dramatically, not in surprise or happiness, but in clear disdain and displeasure at King Beast bringing yet another one of those 'little people'.
