Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugou had known each other for as long as they could remember. Growing up in the same neighborhood and attending the same schools, their lives had been intertwined from the very beginning. As children, they had been close, spending countless afternoons playing together while their mothers chatted over tea. But as they grew older, their bond fractured, twisted by the reality of the world they lived in—a world where power determined everything.

In this society, nearly everyone was born with a quirk, a unique ability that set them apart. Some had minor gifts, while others possessed extraordinary powers that could shape the future. Katsuki had been blessed with one of the strongest quirks among their peers—Explosion. He could generate powerful blasts from the nitroglycerin-like sweat on his palms, making him both admired and feared. Izuku, however, had been born without a quirk. He was among the rare few who had nothing, no special ability to call his own. And because of that, he was labeled as weak, an outcast among his classmates.

Katsuki, once his childhood friend, had become one of his worst tormentors. He called him “Deku,” a name meant to remind him of his worthlessness. He mocked him, shoved him aside, and treated him as if he were less than human. It wasn’t just about Izuku being quirkless—Katsuki couldn’t understand why he kept trying, why he still dreamed of becoming a hero despite having no power. His frustration turned to anger, and that anger became cruelty. But there was something else buried beneath it, something Katsuki refused to acknowledge.

He was supposed to hate Izuku. That was what he told himself. But no matter how much he lashed out, no matter how often he tried to break Izuku down, he couldn’t escape the feelings that lingered underneath it all. Confusion. Shame. Attraction. He wanted those feelings to disappear. He wanted things to be simple.

    But nothing ever was.
