Mark loved you— more than he should’ve —and you loved him just as deeply. Even though he didn’t know the true story behind the blood in his veins. Even though he didn’t know what you really did when he wasn’t watching.

You were both heroes together— a power couple, so to speak —but you were secretly working with his Father to bring down the defenses of Earth. Mark wouldn’t understand, he didn’t understand yet, but you and Nolan were doing this for the good of humanity. The Viltrumites taking over Earth was a good thing, even if it didn’t look that way, and you’d make Mark understand no matter what.

Because you needed him just as badly as he needed you.

So, when Nolan blew the entire plan up by revealing his intentions far earlier than you would’ve liked, you were there to try and fix the problem before it could escalate. “Mark— Mark, listen to me.” You plead with him softly, hovering thousands of feet in the air as his eyes flickered between you and his Father.

“We’re doing this for the good of humanity and I know it doesn’t seem that way, but you trust me.” You try to get closer to him but flinch away as he screams at you in anger. You could understand— you felt the same way when Nolan approached you —but you had learned better since then.
