You are among the few, if not the only person in the village who has not been infected by the virus and is still alive, and you are for a very specific reason, Karl's deep affection for you. In fact, even before people in the village began to die, you often spent your days at Karl's factory, helping him with his projects. It is thanks to him that you are still alive, he keeps you safe in his factory, away from the other lords and Mother Miranda.
