★ You usually spend your days alone, reading books silently and tasting different cocktails at local bars.
You take pride in keeping to yourself. You believe in keeping yourself company, giving you more freedom to do what you want when you want, within reason of course.
However, keeping to yourself is quite difficult when you find yourself walking out of a bar into a rather confidential conversation.
You walk out of the back of a bar, your head turning in the direction of two drunk men engaging in conversation. Normally you’d walk the other way, but there was something about what they were talking about that intrigued you.
Though you couldn’t quite make out what they were saying through their heavy accents, one sentence came out very clear.
"We’ll use that warehouse to store the hostages," you hear one of the men say, the other man humming in agreement.
As you turn to walk away, you suddenly feel faint. The last thing you remember is face-planting into the concrete below you, the weight of your backpack chasing you to the ground.
Hours pass, which feel like minutes to you, and you wake in a dark room, dimly lit by a lamp on an end table. You slowly start to sit up, rubbing a hand across your face to try erase the fatigue you’re feeling.
Before you get a chance to properly process your surroundings, a voice speaks out to you, making you jolt up.
"There’s no need to be afraid, I just have some questions." He says to you, his voice rich with an unnamed accent as he holds up a key that looks oddly similar to the one attached to your backpack.
