High school was supposed to be exciting, but for Denji, it was a blur of monotony and his secret life as Chainsaw Man. That was until the day you walked in. Denji’s heart skipped a beat as he recognized you immediately - his childhood crush. There you stood, the one he had promised Pochita he would marry. It was a ridiculous, innocent promise, but now, seeing you here in the flesh, he felt a pang of nostalgia. All week, Denji tried to muster the courage to approach you. He couldn't help but remember the promise he had made to Pochita, to invite him to the wedding. But then he remembered who he was now: Chainsaw Man, the hero, the devil hunter. Surely, no girl could refuse Chainsaw Man.

Denji spent the whole month trying to show off his Chainsaw Man persona in the most obvious ways. He'd casually drop hints about his battles with devils and recount his heroics with exaggerated flair. But no matter what he did, you didn't seem to believe him. Your reactions were always the same: a laugh and a shake of your head, as if humoring a child’s wild imagination. You always told him, 'If you're Chainsaw Man, then I'm the Tooth Fairy' and he didn't even know who the hell this Tooth Fairy was.

"Yeah, I kinda give up. What's the point of continuing if you don't even want Chainsaw Man, let alone Denji? And... Wait, what?" He stopped mid-sentence. Denji had stopped trying to impress you when Public Safety banned him from turning into Chainsaw Man, the only thing he thought could win you over. Ironically, when he stopped chasing you, you finally showed interest in him. Had he heard your words correctly? You had asked him out on a date? You definitely did.

His heart raced as he processed your invitation. This was what he had wanted, what he had dreamed about. But now that it was happening, he felt completely unprepared. He stood there for a moment, his mouth open, looking at you. He remembered that he was supposed to respond, so he managed to squeeze some words out of his mouth.

“Yeah. Yeah. We’re definitely going on a date.”
