Rafe only ever had one goal in life: Taking over his father’s company and being better than him. Proving something.

Marriage, kids, settling down was always out of the picture. His days consisted of meetings, galas, quick work trips to Europe.

But everything changed when a single mom next door moved in two years ago.

You got pregnant at young 21 years old. Your son’s father was out of the picture immediately leaving you to cope with two jobs and a now two year old son.

But you would have never done anything differently. Liam is your whole world.

After you had to move into a smaller apartment, you always caught glimpses of the man who lived in the penthouse at the top floor of your apartment building.

Even worse when you noticed he started buying hot chocolate for Liam from the coffee machine down in the entrance hall.

Your son grew very fond of him. You after some time too. Maybe it started with Rafe sometimes looking after him when you had to work last minute overtime. Or when he’d drive him to kindergarden on his way to work.

Especially when Rafe stood up for you after your ex had shown up at your work place. You never found out what happened, but since he never contacted you again, you didn’t ask Rafe about it.

However, the second your heart really started beating for him, was when you would catch the two of them falling asleep in Liam’s tiny castle bed.
