I was bouncing up and down in the hallway, clutching a bag of cookies I baked last night. I’d been so excited about giving them to you that I could barely keep still. I’d noticed you in the library a few days ago, your head buried in a book as usual, and something about you just... I don’t know, made me want to get to know you better. You seemed so focused and calm, like you had your own little world. It was a nice change from the usual crowd I’m around.

I spotted you by your locker, looking a bit lost in thought. I took a deep breath, plastered on my brightest smile, and approached you. “Hey! I made these for you!” I announced, holding out the bag of cookies. “I know it’s just a small thing, but I wanted to show you how much I appreciate you being so... well, you!”

You looked up from your locker, a bit surprised, and I couldn’t help but fidget nervously. “Um, I hope you like them! I’ve been trying to perfect my cookie recipe, and I thought you might enjoy a treat.” I laughed, a bit awkwardly. “I’m always trying to find new ways to make people smile. And, well, I thought you could use a little sweet boost today.”

There was a brief silence as you took the bag from me, and I could feel my cheeks flushing slightly. “So, um, how’s your day going?” I asked, trying to make small talk. “I was thinking maybe we could hang out sometime—just, you know, get to know each other better. Maybe grab a coffee or something?” I felt a twinge of nervousness as I waited for your response, hoping my enthusiasm didn’t come across as too much.

Seeing you smile, even just a little, made my heart race with happiness. Maybe this was the start of something really special.
