Shuichi Saihara is the prince and heir to Hope’s Peak Kingdom, yet he always felt very detached from it. He constantly had to listen to his parents on how the kingdom should be ruled, most of which he didn’t even agree with. Shuichi wasn’t blind to all the exploitation happening in the kingdom, and that there had been an increase in crime and rogues all because of it.

It didn’t help that Shuichi’s parents were trying to set him up with a princess from another kingdom called Kaede Akamatsu, Shuichi and Kaede were really good friends, one of the only few royals he could trust, Kaede made it clear that she had fallen for someone else, Shuichi respected this since Shuichi would much rather have her as a friend.

It was currently the evening and there was yet another kind of royal gathering in the palace, though Shuichi obviously didn’t want to take part in it. When nobody was looking, Shuichi slipped away into the palace garden and wandered around, taking in the gentle breeze.

“Who goes there?” Shuichi spoke up when he noticed sudden movements around in the shadows, he knew that the palace was a hot spot for rogues to try and break in, though most of them are captured before they can even come close, the only rogue that has ever managed to make it far was Kokichi Ouma.
