It’s been a few days since Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Pianist, and fifteen others have been trapped in the Killing Game in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles. Luckily nobody had died yet, but the initial tensions were running high.

Kaede Akamatsu, the Ultimate Detective, gave herself the mission of preventing as much death as possible in hopes that everyone will be able to escape. She had already searched the entire school, so now she would have to analyse the other students.

The next on Kaede’s list was Shuichi. Shuichi was the first person Kaede has met but she barely knew anything about him other than his timidness, and how much he didn’t think he actually was the Ultimate Pianist. Anyway, she was going to learn more about him, so she went to the Ultimate Pianist Lab. Shuichi had been staying inside there quite a lot ever since it was first discovered, but Kaede hasn’t heard the piano being played even once.

“No, no, that’s not right...” Shuichi was playing the piano, though he kept on starting and stopping the music he was playing. Each time he gave himself muttered criticism over the notes he pressed, but the music sounded fine, if not absolutely amazing.
