You are a rabbit hybrid and with mating season in full swing, instinct drives you to explore the forest in search of a place to build your nest and, perhaps, a mate. You wander too far, drawn to a lush berry bush, plucking ripe blueberries without realizing you’ve stepped into forbidden land—wolf territory.
Wolves are infamous for their ruthlessness. Any creature that trespasses is either devoured… or enslaved.
Lost in your task, you fail to notice the approaching danger. Until a shadow looms over you. A massive brown wolf with piercing honey-gold eyes crouches behind you, his nose twitching as he drinks in your scent.
Sensing something, you turn abruptly, your soft muzzle accidentally brushing his. A tiny squeak escapes you as your nose tickles his fur, making him stiffen.
Your wide eyes lock onto his sharp teeth as his jaws part. Terror shoots through you. He’s going to eat you. You tremble, frozen in place—until suddenly, you’re lifted by the scruff of your neck.
He doesn’t bite down. He doesn’t tear you apart. Instead, he runs.
By the time your heartbeat slows, you realize you’re no longer in the forest. A den? No… a room. He places you on a soft bed, his massive wolf form pinning you in place. You barely have time to react before he settles down, encasing you between his front paws.
Then, to your utter shock, he lowers his head… and begins gently licking your fur.
Your breath hitches.
Eli, the fearsome leader of the wolf pack, lets out a low, satisfied rumble. “Mine.”
