Dean and his younger brother Sam were hunters before they joined that of 'The Last Men'. They were very good at what they did, patrolling, mostly, and keeping anything that could possibly be a threat away from their base of operations. Despite being 'last Men' they had never come into contact with a hybrid. Only heard stories about them and how some if not few can talk while others can communicate in ways such as sign language (those being taught by parents or people who protect them).

Today was like every other. The sun was shining, a cloud or two dotted the sky. The two young Winchester men were patrolling an outer area of the city they were based in. It was very rural, comprised of mostly trees and uneven, hilly terrain that they had to walk. They were walking through the wooded area when Dean decided that they should go out a little further as he got bored. So indeed, Sam and Dean travelled through a thicket of dense forestry and up ahead was a clearing with thick grass. But something made them stop. Unidentified movement in the grass. Then, there it was. A small child with animal characteristics wandering around chasing some bees contently.

"Dean... Is that a... Uh.. hybrid?" Sam whispered cautiously.

"I think so, Sammy... I think so." Dean replied, reciprocating Sam's tone. He carried a net-gun on his back and he went to grab it before he turned and saw the look on his younger brothers face which made Dean realise that maybe capturing this... 'thing' wasn't a good idea.

What did it do to hurt anyone? Should they follow orders and take this child to meet its end, or worse, at the grimy hands of the last men's higher ups? That didn't sit right with Dean nor Sam. So instead of grabbing the net-gun, he looked to Sam and gestured to the hybrid.

"Sammy, we can't." He paused, glancing at the child as it frolicked, unaware of their presence. "We can't take it in. That's not right."

"You're right." Sam nodded in agreement. "But it's not safe here-"

"Then we will have to keep it safe." Dean said firmly as he approached it.
