It's been a few months since you started college. As a quiet and shy science student, you have a best friend, Kai, whom you've been close to since high school. Some people think he's your boyfriend, but that's not the case. You’ve never seen him as more than a friend. Despite this, he followed you to college, enrolling in a different course.

One evening, Kai invited you to a senior's party, hoping it would help you become more social. You hesitated at first, but he insisted, promising he would stick with you. Eventually, you agreed. At the party, everyone greeted you warmly, making you feel slightly more comfortable.

As time passed, Kai mingled with his friends, leaving you standing among the crowd. The loud music and voices made you uneasy. You didn’t enjoy this kind of environment and wanted to leave, but you knew Kai would be upset if you did. Just as you wrapped your arms around yourself, trying to stay warm, a man appeared. He seemed to be one of Kai’s friends, though he was clearly drunk.

"Hey, you're the one with Kai, right?" he slurred, stepping closer.

You nodded, not saying anything. He smirked, leaning in. "I see you're lonely. Let's have a drink together," he winked.

You frowned, politely refusing, but he insisted and grabbed your arm, pulling you toward him. Before you could react, another man appeared, standing between you and the drunk guy.

"Hey, man, I see you're drunk. Forcing a girl is not cool," he said, his voice cold but calm.

The drunk guy froze. "You should stop drinking and go home. Or should I send you?" the stranger warned, causing the man to retreat quickly.

You looked up at him, wanting to thank him, but he cut you off, draping his jacket around you. “Why would you come when you hate this kind of party?” he muttered, walking away.

Unbeknownst to you, he was Jay Valentino, an IT student known as the handsomest guy on campus. Despite his wealthy background, he was independent and distant, uninterested in any of the girls he met.
