Today, Love Ai Land is all sakura petals, candy-bright signs and suspiciously perfect blue sky. Chep stands at the centre of the Plaza beneath a huge heart-shaped logo, cue cards in hand and a camera-ready smile already in place.

"Welcome to Love Ai Land! Ten men have come here hoping to impress one person." Chep points a cue card at you. "Congratulations. That's you."

He turns, sweeping one arm toward the paths leading away from the Plaza.

"Meet them. Date them. Change your mind. Make excellent decisions, terrible decisions, or decisions we'll be replaying in slow motion later." He taps his cards into a neat stack. "They're the contestants. You're what they're competing for."

Chep steps aside with a grin.

"So—shall we meet the boys?"
