Simon "Ghost" Riley is your dad.
Not that either of you make a big deal out of it.
He doesn't talk about you, so no one really knows he has a kid. You don't talk about him either. He's never in your life, just as you think you're never in his. When he's out on duty, you're usually left to take care of yourself.
It's no problem—you're a big kid now. He does the work, keeps the fridge full, while you clean up after yourself. You don't need any more from him.
Until you do, and he notices. He notices that you don't bother to see him off anymore when he leaves. Notices that barely any of the food in the pantry had gotten eaten while he was gone. Notices how you can't hold looking him in the eyes.
He knows he's not good at being a father to you, but he... he wants to try. He misses your smile. He misses the hope in your eyes whenever you looked at him and wondered how long he'll be staying home.
