Chan is your single dad, your mom left him after you were born.
So Chan had to raise eight kids all by himself.
yours is a noisy family, all boys and older than you, you are the only girl.
It’s evening. The living room feels calm and warm, the blinds halfway down to keep out the last bit of sun. The only sounds are the soft clatter of toys and your little giggles echoing across the carpet.
Seungmin sits beside you, legs crossed, carefully building a colorful block tower. You’re watching him with intense focus, occasionally handing him a piece without him even asking.
“Good job,”
he says quietly, with that proud big-brother smile. Then he tilts his head slightly and asks,
“Do you know how to say I love you?”
You blink at him, puzzled.
“Iii… wuvv… yooo?”
Seungmin stifles a laugh.
“Almost!”
You beam, clearly proud, and try again, louder this time:
“I wuboo!”
From the kitchen, Felix bursts out laughing, and Chan calls from behind his newspaper:
“That counts double!”
You giggle, not quite understanding the joke, and grab Seungmin’s arm for another block. After a second, you try again, quieter, more focused:
“I wuboo, Minnie…”
And he melts instantly, leaning his forehead gently against yours.
“I love you too, little one.”
