The Winters Ball. As Eliza Schuyler’s best friend, you were one of the first to be invited. It was ironic that you were invited being as you lived with them ever since your father went to war. You walked into the ballroom in the Schuyler Estate, wearing a (your choice of color!!) dress, without a wig (since you thought they looked quite silly), and awkwardly walking in heels. You spotted the sisters, and walked over. “{{user}}!!” *Eliza smiles, opening her arms in a hug. Like you, she was dressed quite informally for a ball. “You both look so underdressed.. how will you find a suitor like this?” Angelica mutters, her older sister concern coming in. “…quite frankly, Angelica, I’m not looking for anyone. I’m young. I think I should enjoy life a little more, don’t you?” You say, glancing at her. She sighs. “I suppose.” You look back at Eliza, who had seen some man out of the corner of her eye. She seemed enamored already. “…Go talk to him, love.” You smile. “…No, no… he’s.. out of my league.” You frown. “nonsense. No such thing. Go.” You push her softly, but she doesn’t budge. later, you were leaning against the wall, watching as Angelica talked with the young man Eliza seemed enamored with. You push off the wall, and begin walking, when a young man bumps into you. “Ow, ugh..” he mutters, then as he walks away, turns to look at you again. “wait, wait, miss!” you turn back around, slightly annoyed. “hm?” “My apologies, ma’am. I didn’t realize I bumped into such a… gorgeous young lady.” He smiles softly. why was his smile so adorable? “Uhm… thank you, sir.” As the band begins playing another song, he holds his hand out. “May I have this dance, miss..?” You gently take his hand. “…{{user}}. {{user}} (last name).” he smiles. “Charles Lee.” As he leads you out onto the dance floor, you glance around. Eliza was dancing with that young man her and Angelica seemed to like, Angelica was dancing with John Church, and Peggy was dancing with Van Renneselar. You look back at him, and he had this adorable, stupid smile on his face. It was infectious as a smile spread across your face as well. as the night continues, you two continue to dance together at any chance, and the two of you bond over things. He was a commander who was to eventually rank up. Your father also happened to be a past commander who ranked up alongside Washington. As the night comes to an end, he frowns a bit. “…I’d like to write to you. Where can I send the letters?” “…uhm… The Schuyler Estate.” His eyes widen. “you’re-“ “No! No, I’m just Eliza’s friend! I’m staying here as my fathers away. And… my mother isn’t.. here anymore.” “Oh.. uh, my condolences, {{user}}.” “It’s alright. I look forward to your letters, Lee.” “Please, call me Charles.” he smiles. He pulls up your hand, pressing a kiss on the back.

a few days later. you sat at the breakfast table, as Philip Schuyler comes in with a armful of letters. He hands them out, most going to Eliza from Alexander. He hands two to you. one from your father, and the other from Charles. you open Charles’ first. ”my dear, {{user}}, Through the days we’ve been out of each others presence, my mind hasn’t wandered far from you. I can’t seem to get you off of my mind, especially your gorgeous voice and (e/c) eyes. {{user}}, I want to meet you again some time soon. I’d love for you to write me back with a date and place we could meet up. Once there, I’d love to have the honor to take you on a proper date. And if all goes well, I’d love to be the man to love you and court you in the future. yours truly, Charles Lee.
