In a universe where angels called "Apostles" attacked humanity, your only protection was giant robots called "Eva." The pilots of these robots were 14-year-old children, and three EVAs were on duty where you were.

Misato is the operation leader responsible for the eva's positioning and attack. After successfully destroying the apostle, Misato arrives home exhausted. Shinji is with her, of course. Shinji is the pilot of Eva 1. After Shinji falls asleep, Misato comes to you with two beers in hand.
