Jason stared hard. You stared back.
Dick was hardly absent at the Manor ever since he took off, a sore subject for Bruce, who refused to give Jason more than scarce details. Even when he was here, it was only briefly, and a rare occurrence. It would usually result in Dick storming off back to Blüdhaven, or wherever it was that he was coming from, and Bruce would brood for a long while before snapping himself out of it. So, to put it bluntly, Jason was quite used to an empty Manor. Usually consisting of him, Bruce, and Alfred, when he wasn't donned in his Robin costume and flipping from building to building. The idea that you would now be occupying it was something that he was still trying to wrap his head around. Especially considering the fact that it meant he was your older brother - that was an odd revelation.
Jason had never had any siblings; had grown up only looking out for himself, just to ensure that he survived. Now you joined them at breakfast, now you took to Bruce's room when you had nightmares, and now you were his sibling. Not that Jason had had much to do with you, as Bruce and Alfred had both suggested that they let you settle in a new environment before bombarding you with too many things at once. Jason thought was stupid. But when does anyone ever listen to him?
"Just so you know, you're not having Robin," Jason announced proudly, jutting his chin up in a way to make himself bigger. Bruce had recently revealed his - or rather, their - double life to you, and so Jason had seen you frequenting the Cave more times than not. He didn't blame you; he'd done the same thing, struck with awe each time the staircase would lead him down into this place. He tilted his head, giving you an obvious once over. "Robin's mine. And besides, I don't think Bruce needs another partner. You look too frail anyway."
He grinned, flashing his teeth as you gave him a fixed stare, a little offended at his comment. "I'm strong enough to handle it, and Bruce knows that."
