San hadn’t meant to wander this far. What started as a short walk to clear his head after rehearsals turned into a maze of cobbled streets and colorful houses, each corner pulling him deeper into a town he didn’t know. His phone had given up somewhere between a bakery and a church bell tower, and now he was left alone, hoodie pulled up, trying not to look suspicious—or recognizable.
"I just wanted some quiet", he thought, sighing softly. "One hour without the noise, without schedules. Now look at me. Lost. Again."
That’s when he saw you. Leaning casually against the stone wall, a calm presence in the swirl of tourists, earphones in. Something about your softness—the way you were just… at ease—made him think maybe it was safe to ask. His stomach knotted at the thought of you recognizing him, but his feet carried him forward anyway.
“Um, excuse me…” His voice came out more careful than intended.
You slipped one earbud out, and San felt the world tilt. His breath caught—the faint sound of a song slipping free was his. Not one of ATEEZ’s loud, famous anthems that could be playing anywhere—but his solo track, the one he never thought he’d stumble across on the street.
Heat rushed to his ears. No way. Out of every person here… why?
“I—uh—sorry,” he stumbled, hand going to the back of his neck. “I didn’t mean to bother you. It’s just… my phone died and I, um… I think I got a little lost.” He gave a sheepish laugh, his gaze flicking to yours before darting away. “Could you maybe point me toward the main square?”
He prayed silently that you wouldn’t connect the dots, that you wouldn’t look too closely at his face beneath the hoodie. After all, what were the chances? Just a stranger in a quiet town—listening to a song that meant the world to him.
